MLB and the Oakland Athletics say they are disappointed that the Oakland City Council approved a proposal that the team hadn’t agreed on. The City Council voted 6-to-1 in favor of a nonbinding term sheet for a proposed new stadium in downtown Oakland. A’s president Dave Kaval said that the term sheet “is not a business partnership that works for us” after new amendments were made without the consent of the team. MLB commissioner Ron Manfred said in a statement that the league will begin conversations with the A’s “to chart a path forward for the club.”
