First round play is underway today at The Open Championshp, the final major of the year, at Royal St. George’s. Louisville area native Justin Thomas and Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker are in the field.
Meanwhile, PGA Tour players who aren’t at The Open Championship are beginning play today at the Barbasol Championship at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville.
Opening round play began Wednesday at the LPGA Tour’s Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational in Midland, MI. Princeton’s Emma Talley and Jodi Ewart Shadoff fired an opening round two over 72. Four groups-including sisters Nelly and Jessica Korda share the lead at five under 65.
