A fugitive sought in Christian County for the last nine months was arrested Monday night following a pursuit in Calloway County.
A deputy on Kline Trail observed a vehicle traveling without lights about 10 p.m. and attempted to make a traffic stop, according to a news release.
The driver, 43-year old James Swindle of New Concord, allegedly accelerated and eventually drove into the field after a short pursuit.
Police say during apprehension, Swindle resisted arrest and assaulted a deputy.
Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in Swindle’s vehicle, according to police.
A computer check showed he was wanted on a Christian County warrant for probation violation and that he had been a fugitive for approximately nine months.
Swindle was given shock probation in 2018 after being charged with his fourth DUI and for driving with a suspended license and no insurance.
He was served with the warrant Monday night and is facing new charges of fleeing or evading police, third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
