Reds down Braves, Cardinals lose, Cubs get first combined no hitter in history

Tony Santillan earned his first career major league win after allowing one run over six innings in the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Nick Castellanos led the way for Cincinnati at the plate going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and four RBI. Game two is this evening at Great American Ball Park, with the next Reds on Radio broadcast tomorrow afternoon at 2:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

The St. Louis Cardinals dropped their fourth straight game, falling to the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 last night. Game two of the series is tonight at Busch Stadium.

Major League Baseball’s seventh no hitter of the season belongs to the Chicago Cubs. Zach Davies, Ryan Tepera, Andrew Chafin and Craig Kimbrel all pitched to throw the 17th no-hitter in Chicago franchise history in blanking the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0. The no-no is also the first combined effort in Cubs history. Game two is tonight in Los Angeles.
