NFL

The NFL has approved the use of alternate helmets with throwback uniforms starting in the 2022 season. Alternate helmets will only be able to be worn with throwback, alternate or color rush jerseys and players will have to be fit for their standard helmet and their alternate one. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy tweeted that teams must tell the league of their 2022 helmet plans by July 31st of this year. The use of second helmets ended in 2013 due to safety concerns, but those concerns have eased in recent years.

NBA

Paul George scored 27 points and pulled down 15 rebounds as the Los Angeles Clippers roughed up the Phoenix Suns 106-92 in Game Three of the Western Conference Finals in Los Angeles. Phoenix still leads the series 2-1. Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks clash in Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals. Atlanta leads the series one game to nothing.

NHL

The Montreal Canadiens are going back to the Stanley Cup Final. Artturi Lehkonen scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Canadiens topped the Golden Knights 3-2 in Game Six of the Stanley Cup Semifinals. Tonight, it’s all or nothing for the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning as they do battle in Game Seven in Tampa. The two teams have battled to a three-three series after New York won Game Six in overtime.
