Francisco Lindor homered and drove in three runs as the New York Mets beat the Atlanta Braves 7-3. Freddie Freeman was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, with a walk in defeat. The Braves have lost three of their last six.

The St. Louis Cardinals outhit the Detroit Tigers but still fell 6-2. Nolan Arenado hit a solo home run for St. Louis, which was swept in the two-game set. The Redbirds return home to open a four-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight.

The Chicago Cubs are on the West Coast for the start of a four-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight. Zach Davies takes the mound for Chicago against LA’s Walker Buehler.

New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso has entered the 2021 Home Run Derby, giving him a chance to defend his 2019 derby title. Alonso made the official announcement on his Instagram page and has 11 homers so far this season. The Mets first baseman hit 23 homers in the final round of the 2019 derby to defeat Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr. All-Star festivities will be at Coors Field in Denver this year, so expect some extra-long moonshots in the high altitude.
