Javier Baez homered twice and drove in three as the Chicago Cubs cruised past the San Diego Padres 7-2 at Wrigley Field. Fernando Tatis Jr. belted his 16th homer of the year for San Diego, which has dropped consecutive games for the first time since May 7th and 8th. Game two of the series is tonight.

Ronald Acuna Jr. smacked his 16th homer of the season as the Atlanta Braves held on to nip the Washington Nationals 5-3 ending a two game losing skid. The teams play again this evening.

Marcell Ozuna is out of jail after posting 20-thousand-dollars bond. He had been arrested on charges of aggravated assault by strangulation and battery against his wife. The Atlanta Braves outfielder was arrested on Saturday after he was witnessed attacking his wife in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs. Attorneys said in court that the couple was in the process of a divorce.
