The Pennyroyal Area Museum bid farewell to a longtime historian and museum coordinator Janet Bravard Friday, with a retirement reception as she heads into the next chapter of her life.
Bravard has served in multiple capacities for the last 30 years, from education coordinator, exhibit specialist, Director of Programs and Exhibits and even as interim director. She says the feeling is very bittersweet, as she has always enjoyed her time at the museum and she is now the master of her own schedule.
Bravard says there have been many highlights in her time, including developing the education program for the Beverly Academy One Room Schoolhouse, and helping organize the successful Polar Express event.
She says her plans in retirement including traveling, gardening and a lot of time spent with family.
Bravard encouraged everyone to spend a little time at the Pennyroyal Area Museum, what she calls a gem in the heart of downtown, saying that they will enjoy the heart felt care and dedication to education they find there.
