PGA of America president Seth Waugh issued an apology to both Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka after being mobbed the fans during Sunday’s final round of the PGA Championship on the 18th hole. Waugh said in a statement: “While we welcome enthusiastic fan engagement, we regret that a moment of high elation and pent-up emotion by spectators … briefly overwhelmed security and made the players and their caddies feel vulnerable.”

The LPGA Board of Directors announced today Mollie Marcoux Samaan as the next LPGA commissioner. She most recently worked as athletics director at Princeton University. Samaan becomes the ninth commissioner of the LPGA since 1950.
