Suspect in Kenwood Dr. shooting arraigned in Christian Circuit Court

The woman accused of shooting Kim Harrell in the arm on Kenwood Drive in March was arraigned in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning.

Shequita Buckner appeared virtually before Judge John Atkins, with defense attorney Jarrod Jackson entering a not guilty plea on her behalf.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling says there’s a significant amount of evidence in this case that they will provide to the defense, so he requested the next hearing be set a good way out to allow time for them to provide it and Jackson to look through it.

Judge Atkins set a pretrial hearing for July 28.  As previously reported, 36-year old Kim Harrell was shot in the left arm below the elbow around 11:15 a.m. on March 22 in the 2000 block of Kenwood. She was taken by helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.  Later in the day, an arrest warrant for first-degree assault was served against Buckner, alleging she intentionally used a handgun to shoot Harrell in the arm.
