Man arrested for Christian, Todd County felonies

Hopkinsville police arrested a man Monday night charged with felonies in Christian and Todd counties.

Officers were attempting to locate a missing juvenile that had been reported to Kentucky State Police at a home on Bryan Street and they made contact with 33-year old James Case of Hopkinsville inside a vehicle near the residence.

An arrest citation says Case appeared nervous and had trouble giving his date of birth and social security number.

A computer check showed he was wanted on multiple warrants and police say a search of his jacket revealed a baggie of methamphetamine and a syringe loaded with meth.

He was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

One of the warrants obtained by KSP is for charges of distribution of obscene matter to a minor and prohibited use of an electronic system to procure a minor.

It alleges that in February, Case sent photos of his genitals to a 14-year old girl and that he asked her to send him nude photos.

Case is also accused of inappropriately touching the girl when he was at her home, according to the warrant.

Another warrant obtained by the Elkton Police Department alleges that on February 11, Case stole several items out of a unit at Elk Fork Storage, including wheels and tires, fishing poles and tools.

He’s also accused of being in possession of a stolen car in Todd County, with the Todd County Sheriff’s Department assisting in that investigation.

That warrant was for third-degree burglary and felony receiving stolen property.

A third warrant for failure to appear in court was issued by Christian District Judge Foster Cotthoff in February after Case didn’t show up for a hearing relating to a theft of a motor vehicle registration plate charge.

Case is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
