Senator Paul agrees with bringing troops home from Afghanistan, opposes president’s infrastructure plan

U.S. Senator Rand Paul agrees with President Biden’s plan to end the war in Afghanistan by September 11, but is very much against his $2 trillion infrastructure plan and proposed tax increase for high-earners to help pay for it.

The Republican from Bowling Green says there’s nothing left to accomplish in Afghanistan and he agrees with the president, it’s time to bring the troops home.

Senator Paul would support a bi-partisan infrastructure plan, but believes the current proposal from the president lacks focus on what he sees as real infrastructure.

The senator pushes back against the notion that America’s rich doesn’t pay their fair share of taxes, saying the president’s plan to raise taxes on high wage earners will have a negative impact on the economy.
