MLK Jr. Elementary welcomes two new assistant principals

Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School is celebrating the hiring of two new Assistant Principals in the Christian County Public School System.

According to a news release from CCPS Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, Principal Carrie Caples announced the hiring of Stephanie Blanton and Laura Jenkins as assistant principals for the 2021-2022 school year.

Blanton has taught at MLK for the past 13 years and has also served in a reading and math interventionist position at the school. She holds bachelors and multiple master’s degrees from Murray State University.

 

 

 

Jenkins has 23 years of experience in education as a teacher and an assistant principal. Jenkins currently serves as the Transition Readiness Coach at Christian County High School and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Austin Peay State University and a Rank 1 designation from Indiana Wesleyan University.
