The Christian County Budget Committee met with department heads and have received agency funding requests as they begin the process of crafting a spending plan for the county in the next fiscal year.
Treasurer Walter Cummings says members of the committee met with leaders of the Road Department, Animal Shelter, Emergency Management and Christian County Jail Wednesday and heard their allocation requests.
He says there were not many changes in requests from agencies the county supports.
The committee will make a draft budget that will be reviewed by all eight magistrates before Fiscal Court votes on a final version next month.
The budget will have to be sent for the Department for Local Government for review after the first reading is approved and then magistrates will need to approve final reading at a meeting before the end of June.
