Hopkinsville downs UHA, Christian County rallies for win vs, Marshall County

Hopkinsville won its first game of the season downing University Heights 17-1 in four innings. The Lady Blazers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI double from Regan Pollard, but Hopkinsville scored four times in the second, six times in the third and seven in the fourth inning to get the win. Jakayla Grubbs was 4-4-all singles-with five RBI to pace Hopkinsville, while UHA was held to just two hits. Hopkinsville is now 1-4 on the season and 1-0 in district play as the Lady Tigers host Fort Campbell today. UHA is now 3-3 and 1-1 in district play and return to action Monday against Livingston Central.

Marshall County had a 9-5 lead over Christian County but saw the Lady Colonels rally for a 12-10 win last night. Karlee Crick led Christian County with three hits-including two doubles and Madison “Pickle” Winkler added two in the win. Riley Hancock in relief of Grace Harned got the pitching win. Christian County is now 9-3 and hosts Webster County on Thursday.
