Minnesota Twins at Los Angeles Angels (Postponed)

Today’s game between the Minnesota Twins and Athletics in Oakland is postponed due to COVID-19 issues with the Minnesota clubhouse. The Twins also had games against the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday and Sunday postponed after at least four players tested positive for the virus in the last week. The Twins and A’s are now tentatively scheduled for a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Jay Bruce announced his retirement Sunday. The New York Yankees first baseman is hanging up his cleats after 14 seasons in the big leagues with the Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Seattle Mariners, and Cleveland Indians. He said he just felt like he couldn’t perform up to the level he had set for himself.
Bruce was a three-time All-Star, hitting 319 homers in his career — his last coming this season. The left-handed hitter twice finished in the top ten for MVP voting when playing for the Reds — in 2011 and 2012 — and won a pair of Silver Slugger awards while playing the outfield.
