Woman arrested after allegedly assaulting boyfriend with brass knuckles

A Hopkinsville woman is charged with felony assault after she allegedly struck her boyfriend on the head with brass knuckles at a home on East 23rd Street Monday night.

Hopkinsville police were called to the 300 block of East 23rd about 11 p.m. and found 37-year old John Foster bleeding from the head and face.

A woman listed on the police report as his girlfriend, 21-year old Makayla Powell of Hopkinsville, reportedly told officers she and Foster had been in an argument when she grabbed brass knuckles and struck him several times on the face and head.

Powell was arrested and charged with first-degree assault (domestic violence).
