Two of the three teams remaining from Western Kentucky advanced in Friday’s quarterfinals of the Girls Sweet 16 at Lexington’s Rupp Arena. 2nd region winner Henderson County topped Russell 64-53 and 1st region winner Marshall County defeated Bethlehem 58-51. Henderson County and Marshall County play in the second semifinal game at 1 Saturday afternoon.
4th region winner Bowling Green lost to Sacred Heart 66-54 while Anderson County downed Franklin County 53-35. Sacred Heart meets Anderson County at 10 am Saturday.
