University Heights ended a 10 game losing streak to Christian County by winning 9-1 at Colonel Field Thursday. The Blazers broke open a 1-1 tie scoring five times in the fifth on two hits and then added three more runs in their last two at bats to get the win. Starting and winning pitcher Luke Welch helped his cause with a home run in going 2-2 with three RBI and went the distance allowing one run on four hits and struck out nine.
Elijah Underhill had a first inning home run for the Colonels while Houston George took the pitching loss. UHA is 4-3/3-0 in district play while Christian County is 0-5/0-1.
