An Oak Grove man was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle Tuesday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s Major Jason Newby says 20-year old Ashton Wilson of Oak Grove was northbound on Poppy Seed Drive at a high rate of speed and lost control of his motorcycle as he approached the intersection with Hugh Hunter Road.
His bike struck a utility pole and then was hit by an eastbound SUV on Hugh Hunter.
Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene and family notification was made, according to Maj. Newby, who said Wilson was a U.S. Army veteran, having recently gotten out of the military.
The driver of the SUV declined an ambulance trip to the hospital.
