Baylor wins NCAA title, UNC names Davis as head coach

Jared Butler scored 22 points as Baylor beat Gonzaga 86-70 in the NCAA title game in Indianapolis. Baylor raced out to a 29-to-10 lead and cruised from there. The Bears went 28-and-2 to claim their first national championship. Jalen Suggs scored 22 to lead Gonzaga, which was denied a perfect season at 31-and-1.

Hubert Davis has been selected as the first Black head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. Davis’ will replace Roy Williams who announced his retirement last Friday. Davis spent the last nine seasons as assistant coach under Williams and also played under Dean Smith from 1988 through 1992.
