CCHD has COVID vaccine appointments available

The Christian County Health Department continues to have COVID vaccine appointments for anyone 18 and older.

Amanda Sweeney-Brunt with the health department says you can click on the banner at the top of Christiancountyhd.com to schedule an appointment for the two-dose Moderna vaccine.

Health officials are hopeful more young people will be vaccinated to help slow the spread of the virus.

Sweeney-Brunt says they’re considering an after-hours clinic in the future to reach young folks who cannot make it to the Bruce Center during the day due to work restrictions.

Kentucky has opened up vaccinations to anyone 16 and older, but Moderna and Johnson and Johnson haven’t been approved for anyone under the age of 18. Pfizer vaccines, which are approved for 16 and 17-year olds, are available by appointment through the Hopkinsville Walgreens. The health department will have a Johnson and Johnson vaccine clinic at the James E. Bruce Convention Center  on Wednesday, with appointments being accepted until Tuesday at noon.
