Ky. adds 815 new COVID-19 cases, 22 deaths

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 815 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, in the last live update of the week.

He also reported 22 new deaths and positivity rate of 2.96 percent, which is even with what the rate has been the past few days.  This coming Monday, he says that vaccine clinics across the Commonwealth will be open to anyone 16-years old and up who wants the shot to make an appointment.

There continues to be variants of the coronavirus on the rise across the nation, with Governor Beshear saying they continue to find cases in the state.

The governor signed an executive order that extends the restriction on evictions in the state, coinciding with the recommendation to do so from the CDC.

The death toll in Kentucky is up to 6,090 since the pandemic began, but there were zero new reported cases of the virus in long-term care facilities, which the governor calls very exciting news.

The Tennessee Department of Health reported 1,313 new cases, along with 10 new deaths—the positivity rate in the Volunteer State is now at 6.47 percent.
