Proceedings continued in N. Kentucky Avenue murder case to review evidence

Proceedings were continue Wednesday in Christian Circuit Court in the case against Larayna and Anthony Manning, who are charged in connection with the October 2020 shooting death of Calvin “Cue” Taylor.

Both appeared virtually Wednesday, with Anthony Manning—who charged with complicity to murder and complicity to robbery—appearing alongside defense attorney Shannon Powers. Powers requested the continuance, saying there is a substantial amount of evidence to work through.

Circuit Judge Andrew Self continued to case to May 19, with defense attorney Jason Pfeil, who represents Larayna Manning—the alleged shooter in the case—saying that if any circumstances change, he will file a bond motion on behalf of his client.

Larayna Manning is charged with murder and first-degree robbery. Hopkinsville police allege Anthony Manning drove his mother to Taylor’s home and went inside after hearing gunfire. Drugs, cash and a safe were missing from Taylor’s home when police began the investigation and police say Taylor’s mouth and wrists were duct-taped, indicating there had been a robbery.
