Two people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident Thursday night at Bradshaw Road and the Bypass.
Hopkinsville police investigated and determined 33-year old Andrea McKenzie of Elkton was eastbound on the bypass at about 9 p.m. and 75-year old Bertha Childress of Hopkinsville was headed south on Bradshaw Road.
McKenzie told police her light was green, she looked down briefly at her cell phone, and it was red when she looked back up.
She didn’t have time to stop and collided with the Childress vehicle.
Childress and her son, 58-year old James Childress of Hopkinsville, were both taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
McKenzie and her passenger, 30-year old James Sowell of Hopkinsville, both had minor injuries and refused a trip to the hospital.
