Chicago woman charged with third-degree burglary in Hopkinsville

The Hopkinsville Police Department has charged a Chicago woman with third-degree burglary following a shoplifting incident at Walmart Sunday.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the Walmart Supercenter for reports of 33-year old Shantell Winters of Chicago shoplifting by using a method called ‘skip scanning’.  She was also allegedly replacing high priced stickers on items with lower priced stickers.

Investigation determined that Winters had multiple prior reports of theft from other Walmarts, and records reportedly showed she had been trespassed from all Walmart and Sam’s Club locations in the United States.

She was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, which is a felony.
