The Hopkinsville Fire Department worked to extinguish a structure fire Monday morning at a residence in the 100 block of Maplelawn Drive.
According to Fire Chief Steve Futrell, the call came out around 6 a.m. and there were flames visible when fire fighters arrived. No one was injured in the blaze, with all occupants and pets able to make it from the structure. Four people were displaced due to the fire.
Fire damage was contained to the upstairs apartments, but there is smoke and water damage throughout the structure. Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the residents.
