Thirty-six officers graduate basic training, one coming to HPD

Thirty-six law enforcement officers from agencies across the state graduated from the basic training academy, including one for the Hopkinsville Police Department.

According to a news release, the graduates of Class 514 received 800 hours of recruit-level instruction over 20 weeks. Major training areas included patrol procedures, defensive tactics, criminal law, firearms, criminal investigations, cultural awareness, bias related crimes and more.

Jaritt Beasley will be coming to HPD with the Coordinator’s Award.
