In the First Four, Texas Southern topped Mount St. Mary’s 60-52, Drake nipped Wichita State 53-52, Norfolk State ousted Appalachian State 54-53, and UCLA beat Michigan State 86-80 in OT. Those teams advance into the NCAA Tournament which begins today.
Morehead State will face third-seeded West Virginia in its opening game of the South Region tonight in Indianapolis. It is Morehead State’s first NCAA Tourney in 10 years.
Tennessee is seeded fifth in the Midwest Region and meet 12th-seeded Oregon State in its first game this afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tennessee takes an 18-and-8 record into the tourney. The Beavers were the surprise winner of the Pac 12 Tourney and are 17-and-12.
