Todd County had state’s lowest unemployment rate in January

Todd County again has the lowest unemployment rate in Kentucky as the jobless rate fell in eight of nine Pennyrile counties from December to January.

Todd County’s 3.6 percent was less than the even 4 percent number from December and down from 4.6 percent a year ago. Neighboring Logan County had the second-lowest jobless rate at 3.7 percent.

Unemployment came in at 5.5 percent in Christian County, down from 6.1 percent in December and from 5.8 percent in January of 2020.

Trigg County’s jobless rate was 5.5 percent, an improvement from 6.2 percent in December and the same as one year ago.

The state average was 5.3 percent and the national number was 6.3 percent.
