University Heights wins Boys 8th district title in OT over Hopkinsville

University Heights won the 8th district championship in overtime defeating Hopkinsville 64-58. The Blazers had a nine point halftime lead at 37-28 before the Tigers came back to take a 49-48 lead at the end of three quarters with regulation ending in a 56 all tie.

KJ Crump led UHA in scoring with 24 points followed by DJ Quarles with 12 and Amani McGee with 10 in improving to 12-9. Hopkinsville was led in scoring by Reece Jesse with 15, Daisjuan Mercer added 12 and Jamarcus Burks had 10 in falling to 6-4. Both teams will play in the 2nd region tournament next week.

Members of the All Tournament team were Will Bryan, KJ Crump, Amani McGee and DJ Quarles of UHA, JaMarcus Burks, Reece Jesse and Daijuan Mercer of Hopkinsville and Herb Forte and JaSean Riley of Christian County.
