Multiple people were reportedly injured in a shooting incident Tuesday morning near the campus of Murray State University.
Murray police say it happened in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street and that it’s an ongoing investigation.
A shelter-in-place order was briefly instituted for the Murray State campus, though the incident happened off campus, and the university said they do not believe the individuals involved had any affiliation with MSU.
A tweet from Murray State says multiple victims were taken to an area hospital.
No other information has been released.
Earlier this morning, the Murray State Police Department and Murray City Police responded to a shooting incident at a property adjacent to campus and a shelter in place message was sent immediately thereafter. The shooter is no longer a threat to the campus community.
