CCHD says vaccine appointments available

The Christian County Health Department has appointments available for COVID-19 vaccinations as they continue with Phase 1C.

Appearing Tuesday morning on WHOP, Amanda Sweeney-Brunt with the Christian County Health Department said appointments were still available on the CCHD website for Thursday of this week and for Tuesday through Thursday of next week.

Anyone 60 or older, essential workers and those with CDC qualifying underlying health conditions are eligible to be vaccinated in Phase 1C.

The Christian County Health Department is administering the two-dose Moderna vaccine and Sweeney-Brunt is not advising anyone to wait for the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, saying it could be a while before its widely available.

Free COVID testing continues Mondays and Wednesdays, but it’s now at the health department building on Canton Street by appointment.

Approximately 11,000 vaccine doses have been administered at the health department’s clinic in the Bruce Convention Center since it started.
