Cave-in-Rock Ferry closed by flooding on Ohio River

The Cave-in-Rock Ferry that takes motorists across the Ohio River from Crittenden County into Illinois is closed due to flooding.

The last run was made from Kentucky at about 6 p.m. Friday and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says based on the forecast for the Ohio River, the ferry is expected to remain closed until at least March 14.

The ferry carries about 500 vehicles across the Ohio River on an average day.
