Hopkinsville man arrested for theft of ATV

Investigation into a stolen ATV Friday afternoon led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville man on a felony theft charge.

Officers were given a description of a man who stole the Polaris ATV from HWEA on East Ninth Street and found a person matching the description sitting on a bench at the Yall’s gas station on Ninth.

An arrest citation for 31-year old Lonnie Stuart says he had the key to the ATV in his pocket and let police to where he had parked it behind a building. He also allegedly had a partially-smoked marijuana cigar in his hand when police made contact with him. More marijuana was reportedly found inside a pill bottle on his person.

The ATV was returned to HWEA and Stuart was arrested for felony theft (over $10,000) and possession of marijuana.
