Hopkinsville locks up top seed for 8th district tournament in win over UHA

The Hopkinsville Tigers clinched the top seed for the upcoming 8th district tournament with an 82-78 win over University Heights Academy last night. The Tigers had four players in double figure scoring led by Alijah Watts with 20, Reece Jesse and Jamarcus Burks each with 19 with Daisjuan Mercer adding 11 as Hopkinsville improved to 6-3 on the season.

University Heights was led in scoring by Amani McGee with 23 points with William Bryan and DJ Quarles each pitching in 19 in falling to 8-9 on the season.
The teams meet again Monday night at Hopkinsville, but the Tigers will be back in action tomorrow night at Christian County at 7 pm, with the First Financial Bank pregame show at 6:45 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com.
