The National Invitational Tournament is downsizing its field due to the Covid pandemic. The NCAA announced Monday the NIT will feature just 16 teams and all the games will be played in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Games will be played at Comerica Center in Frisco and at UNT Coliseum in Denton. Typically, the field features 32 teams, with the semifinals and championship game being played at Madison Square Garden in New York. There will also be no automatic qualifiers to the tournament, as all 16 teams will be at-large selections.
