A key member of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ World Series championship team is going to stay. The “Orange County Register” reports Justin Turner reached agreement on a two-year deal with the team worth 34-million-dollars. The 36-year-old third baseman also agreed to an eight-million-dollar signing bonus and a club option for a third season with a 14-million-dollar salary. Turner has 116 home runs and a .302 batting average over seven seasons with the Dodgers. He’s also the team leader in post-season hits, home runs, doubles, and RBI.

Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Soroka has won his arbitration hearing. He’ll make 2.8-million-dollars this season instead of the 2.1-million that Atlanta countered with. The 23-year-old was eligible for arbitration for the first time this year. In 2019, Soroka finished sixth in Cy Young voting.

St. Louis Cardinals ace Jack Flaherty is getting a raise this season. The right-hander reportedly won his arbitration case against the club and will earn a salary of three-point-nine-million for the 2021. That is a bump from the just over 600-thousand-dollars he earned last season. Flaherty posted a 4.91 ERA across nine starts in the 2020 pandemic-shortened season. In the two seasons prior, the 25-year-old was 19-and-17 with a 3.01 ERA.

Jake Arrieta is reuniting with the Chicago Cubs. The right-hander has reportedly agreed to a one-year-contract worth six-million-dollars. Arrieta captured the National League Cy Young Award with the Cubs in 2015 after posting 22 wins, a 1.77 ERA and 236 strikeouts versus 48 walks in 229 innings.
The 34-year-old helped Chicago win the World Series in 2016 before spending the last three seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies. Arrieta went 22-and-23 with a 4.36 ERA in 64 appearances in Philadelphia.
