Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is apologizing to Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu. According to ESPN, the Super Bowl 55 MVP texted Mathieu after the game, calling him the ultimate competitor, incredible leader, champion, and class act. The two jawed several times on the field Sunday, with Brady even chasing Mathieu down to get in his face at one point. Brady says he lost his composure and plans to apologize in person eventually.
The worst defeat of his NFL career has Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes more motivated than ever. He called Sunday’s 31-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a bad feeling and one he doesn’t want to have again. Mahomes says it will stick with him the rest of his career.
Job well done. That’s from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who’s congratulating the city of Tampa and the host committee for staging Super Bowl 55 during some very tough times. Goodell has said he thinks team owners will look favorably on Tampa for another Super Bowl in the future when it comes time to name the host city. Tampa Bay was the first team to not only play, but win the big game in their home stadium.
