The Cincinnati Reds are adding veteran left-hander Sean Doolittle to the roster. Several outlets report Cincinnati and Doolittle are working on a one-year deal worth one-point-five-million-dollars. An All-Star in 2014 and 2018, the 34-year-old Doolittle appeared in just eleven games last year with the Washington Nationals while dealing with injuries. The deal is pending a physical.

Nolan Arenado wants to be a St. Louis Cardinal for a long time. The five-time All-Star third baseman says he is excited to be part of an organization with great players and great history. St. Louis acquired Arenado this week from the Colorado Rockies in a six-player deal. He won a Gold Glove in each of his eight seasons in Colorado and has led the National League in homers three times.

Chris Archer is returning to Tampa Bay. ESPN reports the 32-year-old right-hander has agreed to a one-year, 6.5-million-dollar deal with the Rays. Tampa Bay traded Archer to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2018 after a pair of All-Star selections. He owns a 3.86 career ERA, but did not pitch in 2020.

The Los Angeles Angels are suspending pitching coach Mickey Callaway after a report surfaced accusing him of lewd behavior. The team said in a statement they are aware of the allegations reported by The Athletic and are working closely with MLB to conduct a full investigation.

The left-hander who won Game Seven of the 1979 World Series for the Pittsburgh Pirates against the Baltimore Orioles has died. Grant Jackson was 78. The Ohio native compiled an 86-and-75 record in 18 Major League seasons. He was an All-Star in 1969 with Philadelphia.
