Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 2,443 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, which he says is a continuing downward trend in comparison to recent weeks.
The Governor also noted Tuesday was the fifth day in a row that the state’s COVID-19 positivity rate has stayed under nine percent, now at 8.83 percent. He unfortunately reported 32 new deaths, which he says shows that work must continue to get vaccines out and keep up those health guidelines to keep exposures down.
He also reported that vaccine supply is set to increase by an additional five percent from the federal government, which means the state’s supply will increase by 22 percent the week of February 8.
The Tennessee Department of Health reported 2,173 new cases there, along with 147 deaths—bringing the death toll in the Volunteer State up to 9,900.
