Sunday’s Women’s Hoops Scores/Tonight’s Game

In the Southeastern Conference: 25th ranked Tennessee downed 13th ranked Kentucky 70-53. Rhyne Howard scored 14 points and Chasity Patterson had 12 to lead the Wildcats now 11-4/4-3 in the Southeastern Conference. Tennessee was led in scoring by Rennia Davis’ game high 20 points as the Lady Vols improved to 10-3 overall/4-1 in the SEC. Kentucky is back in action Thursday night at Alabama with pregame at 7:15 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com.

Top ranked Louisville edged Wake Forest 65-63 Sunday. Dana Evans hit a driving shot for the go-ahead three-point play with 8.0 seconds left to help top-ranked Louisville barely avoid a huge upset. Evans scored 25 points for Louisville- now14-0 overall/ 7-0 Atlantic Coast Conference- who trailed by nine midway through the fourth quarter before going on a 14-2 run to push back in front and set up a tense finish. Louisville hosts the University of Miami Tuesday afternoon.

Tonight’s Game: Women’s action has Murray State on the road at Austin Peay in Ohio Valley Conference action. Both teams are on two game winning streaks. The Governors won the first meeting in December 65-60 at Murray State. Tipoff at the Dunn Center is at 6 pm.
