The Chicago Cubs are launching an investigation into former team executive Jared Porter. Porter was fired yesterday as general manager of the New York Mets after a ESPN report revealed he had sent an unsolicited explicit photo to a female reporter in 2016 while he was the Cubs Director of Professional Scouting. Major League Baseball is also investigating. Porter had been on the Cubs’ short list of general manager candidates after team president Theo Epstein resigned this offseason and former GM Jed Hoyer was promoted to replace him.

Former Atlanta Braves broadcaster and Hall of Fame pitcher Don Sutton has passed away at the age of 75 at his home in California. After Sutton’s 23 year playing career, he joined Atlanta as a TV and radio analyst for 28 seasons. Sutton was part of the Braves’ 14 straight division titles and their 1995 World Series championship. He continued broadcasting games until 2018.
