President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in at 11 a.m. Wednesday and western Kentucky Congressman James Comer is hopeful the country’s new leader will be willing to work across the aisle where common ground can be found.
Comer, a member of the Republican minority in the House, says Biden and Democrats in both chambers should be able to find Republican cooperation on an infrastructure bill.
The country remains very much divided politically as the Biden administration begins and Comer says it’s up to leaders of both parties to distance themselves from the fringe and cool the divisive rhetoric.
Democrats will control the House and Senate, but by razor-thin margins that Comer says will require the new administration to try and work across party lines.
