Grand Jury returns indictments for assault, criminal abuse

A Christian County Grand Jury returned a large amount of indictments Friday, including for assault and criminal child abuse.

Indicted for first-degree assault is 42-year old Jamie Granados of Hopkinsville, who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend twice, once in the neck and once in his left thigh.  The victim had to be flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for his injuries.  This occurred in December in the 100 block of South Kentucky Avenue.

The grand jury indicted 61-year old Raymond Wimbush with second-degree assault, alleging he stabbed an individual in an assault that occurred in November.  He reportedly told police that the victim had advanced on him with a knife.

Twenty-four year old Cherylese Horns of Hopkinsville has been indicted on counts of first-degree criminal abuse against a child under the age of 12, first-degree wanton endangerment and abandonment of a minor.  The original arrest report states Horns had been arrested for alcohol intoxication on November 25 and spent several hours at the Christian County Jail before jail staff asked officers to do a welfare check of Horns’ residence. Officers discovered Horns daughter home alone, where a window was left open and there were reportedly several kitchen knives laying in plain sight.  There were no adults or anyone in the apartment or nearby.
