The Christian County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a Crofton man following a pursuit that ended on Dawson Springs Road Thursday afternoon.
According to a news release, Deputy John Quarles attempted to stop a vehicle for an obstructed windshield around North Main Street and the Bypass in Hopkinsville at around 1:00 pm. The driver, later identified as 40-year old James Ferrell of Crofton, allegedly accelerated and fled the scene. During the pursuit, Ferrell could be seen throwing items from the vehicle, which were later collected by Deputies and identified as methamphetamine and marijuana.
Once the pursuit came to an end on Dawson Springs Road near Terry Lane, it was determined the vehicle Ferrell was operating was reported stolen out of Hopkinsville.
Ferrell is charged with fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, trafficking in meth, tampering with physical evidence, receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana and multiple traffic violations.
