Ky. sees 4,560 new COVID-19 cases, 47 deaths

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported the state’s fourth-highest report of new COVID-19 cases Wednesday at 4,560, along with 47 new deaths.

According to a news release, that brings the overall total in the Commonwealth up to 313,282 and the positivity rate steady pretty steady at 12.29 percent.  There are 1,702 people in the hospital with coronavirus, 403 in the ICU and 225 currently on a ventilator.

Governor Beshear says the state going to pass 3,000 COVID-19 deaths in the commonwealth, calling that a tragedy that can be stopped if people just do what needs to be done.

He says they’ll provide a significant update on vaccine rollout on Thursday that he considers good news.  The Tennessee Department of Health reported 4,625 new cases there, along with 137 new deaths, bringing the death toll in the Volunteer State up to 8,148.
