Cadiz man arrested following pursuit

A Cadiz man was arrested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department following a short pursuit that ended in Hopkinsville Tuesday night.

A traffic stop was attempted on 28-year old Zach White of Cadiz on North Main Street for equipment and moving violations and police say he ran several stop signs and passed several vehicles in an unsafe manner in an attempt to get away.

His vehicle became disabled when he went into a ditch and White fled on foot, but was soon caught with the assistance of an HPD K9.

A search of his vehicle and the immediate area allegedly revealed about one pound of methamphetamine, scales, a pistol with approximately 100 rounds of ammunition and the gun had been reported stolen in Todd County.

White was treated at Jennie Stuart Medical Center for a dog bite to the hand and was then lodged in the Christian County Jail on charges of trafficking in meth, fleeing or evading police, receiving a stolen firearm, possession of a handgun by a felon, tampering with evidence and several other counts.
