As the high school basketball season begins Monday, the 2nd Region Media Preseason Polls were released Sunday.
Boys: Lyon County with sharp shooting Ryan Perry is the preseason favorite, with Christian County, University Heights, Madisionville and Hopkinsville in the top five. Webster County, Henderson County, Crittenden County, Caldwell County and Trigg County round out the top 10. Union County received votes.
Girls: Henderson County is the preseason pick to win the region with Webster County, Christian County, Madisonville and Crittenden County in the top five. Hopkinsville, Trigg County, Caldwell County, Union County and Hopkins Central round out the top 10. Lyon County and University Heights received votes.
