Todd County eclipses 700 total COVID cases on final day of 2020

Todd County eclipsed 700 total cases of COVID-19 on the final day of 2020.

The five new cases pushed the total to 701, with all five adult patients isolating at home with mild or mild to moderate symptoms.

Todd County has now recorded 701 cases since the pandemic began in March, with 623 having already recovered. There are 53 patients healing at home, nine in a hospital and there have been 16 fatalities.

December more than doubled the previous record for cases in a month with 264 and tied October for record hospitalizations at 13.

Meanwhile, Public Health Director Jen Harris says they have only received enough vaccines to take care of healthcare workers at this time. They have completed about a quarter of that process and should be done by the end of next week.
